As a strong proponent of social innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, Angie has a strong track record in community building and developing innovative art programs and events. Throughout her career, she has produced art exhibitions, music festivals and public panel discussions, in order to increase access to rising artists, opportunities for collaborations and drive the dialogue on positive transformation and change.
With over 10 years of international work experience, Angie has worn many hats and collaborated with stakeholders across continents and cultures. Her background of having lived in five countries on three continents has allowed her to quickly adapt and effectively communicate, while her professional and academic trainings equipped her with the technical skills and know-how to efficiently deliver high quality work.
As the Program and Development Director of Hamiltonian Artists Inc., she worked to advance the professional development of emerging visual artists, while serving as the lead liaison to donors and institutional funders. Equally passionate about creative place-making and community building, Angie is the founder of the Back Porch Concert Series and (re)activate, two projects exploring the dynamics of space and alternative modes of exhibiting art and culture in our urban environment.
Most recently, Angie took a sabbatical from work to complete a post-graduate certificate program in Social Innovation Management in São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a Master’s in Arts Management from the American University and is a 2014 Creative Communities Fellowship recipient from National Arts Strategies and a 2012 StartingBloc Fellow for Social Innovation. For three years, she served on the Board of Emerging Arts Leaders DC and has been an ArTTable member since 2013.
In her free time, Angie enjoys seeing live music, cooking with friends, traveling, physical exercise (especially water sports of all kinds) and pursuing a little photography on the side.
