In 2018, I took a sabbatical from work to complete a Post-Graduate certificate program in Social Innovation Management from the Amani Institut in São Paulo, Brazil.
The unique, field-based program brought together a diverse cohort of 30 individuals from around the world to deepen our understanding about the possibilities and complexities of social innovation work and to develop core professional & leadership skills through practical experiences, consultation and course work in:
Technology for Social Innovation
Mindful Leadership
Creating and Managing a Social Venture
Value Innovation
Gaming for Social Change
Bio-Empathy
Human-Centered Design Thinking
Over the course of 5 months, I had the incredible opportunity to learn about the social innovation sector, explore a city with a thriving innovation culture, apprentice for a B Corp organization and unlock my own entrepreneurial potential and ideas.
Alongside the coursework, I also got to experience the process of developing and prototyping my own social innovation project, Dirty Louça, to reduce plastic waste and help the food & festival sector go green.
